5v5 flag football play
Flood Levels
Three routes at three heights on the same sideline turn coverage into a math problem the defense can't solve. Tell your players: 'Your depth is your job — two, nine, sixteen.'
How to run it
- 1
Three levels on the right: flat at two, sail at nine, go at sixteen — if two routes end up at the same depth, the flood is broken.
- 2
WR3: release vertical for five yards before bending out — selling the seam is what freezes the flat defender.
- 3
QB: one glance deep, then work down — the ball should be out to the sail or the flat before your third hitch step.
Who the quarterback reads
- 1. Z
- 2. Y
- 3. C
Reading top-down, the go is the first look because a defense that loses deep leverage gives up the biggest play — one glance confirms it, then the QB works down the levels.
The concepts in this play
- Flood
- Send three receivers to one side at three different depths so a zone defense can't cover every level at once — someone is always open.
Who should run it
Developing. Teams with a season together, or middle-school age. A couple of reps to lock the spacing in.
